Second Lieutenant Ernest Edwin LAMB, 3rd Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (attached 9th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers), killed in action,  Moquet Farm, France, 26th September 1916, age 25.

Born Portsmouth, Hampshire, son of Edwin Daniel Lamb, M.B.E., R.N., and Kate Teresa Florence Lamb, of 60, Stephens Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. 


1911 Census - 60, Stephens Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent - Edwin D Lamb, head, age 46, married, Naval Pensioner / Bank Porter, worker, born Plumstead, Kent; Kate T F Lamb, wife, age 42, married 20 years, 3 children, 1 still alive, born Portsmouth, Hampshire; Ernest E Lamb, son, age 19, single, Auctioneers Clerk, worker, born Portsmouth, Hampshire.


Private West Kent Yeomanry, Service No.1061.

7th December 1915, posted Dardanelles Theatre of War.

Also served with the 9th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers at Gallipoli and in Egypt.

9th December 1916, Probate - Ernest Edwin Lamb, of 60, Stephens Road, Tunbridge Wells. Second Lieutenant,  Royal West Kent Regiment, died 26th September 1916, in France. Administration London 9th December to Edwin Daniel Lamb, gunner R.N.. Effects £95 8s 4d.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, France & on Tunbridge Wells War Memorial.
