Corporal Frederick William LARK, G/17839,  6th   Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds, (gun shot wound to the back), 19 Casualty Clearing Station, France, 17th July 1917. 

Born Beccles, Suffolk, son of Frederick Hindes & Sarah Jane Lark.

5th December 1911, Parish Church, Beccles, Suffolk. married Emma May Ashby, 2 Heath Cottage, Exning, nr Newmarket, Suffolk.

Enlisted Beccles, Suffolk, age 34, height 5ft 8 inches, weight 169lbs. Resided 21 Fair Close, Beccles, Suffolk / 2 Heath Cottage, Exning, nr Newmarket, Suffolk. Formerly busman.

Separation Allowance 9/- a week & Allotment of Pay 3/6 a week, payable to wife.

Home, 20th November 1915 to 2nd October 1916; BEF, 3rd October 1916 to 17th May 1917. 

20th November 1915, enlisted; 21st November 1915, posted Army Reserve; 20th June 1916, mobilized & posted 27th (Reserve) Battalion,  Royal Fusiliers, Service No.3167; 1st September 1916, transferred & posted 103 Training Reserve Battalion, Service No.TR/10/56595; 3rd October 1916, transferred to Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th October 1916, embarked; 18th October 1916, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment & joined Battalion, In the Field; 8th December 1916, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 8th February 1917, Trevent, 6 Stationary Hospital, ICT mild; 8th February 1917, discharged to Duty; 12th April 1917, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 29th April 1917, attached Royal Engineers; 3rd May 1917, transferred to "C" Company & appointed Acting Corporal; 17th May 1917, rejoined Battalion, "D" Company; 17th July 1917, wounded.

28th January 1918, pension of 15/- a week awarded to widow. Payable to Mrs Watkins, Waveney Road, Beccles, Suffolk. In  Trust for Administration.

Buried at Duisans British Cemetery, IV. O. 50., Etrun, France.
