Corporal John MACKEY, 204436, 7th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly 5839, K.O.S.L.I.), killed in action, Flanders France, 24th April 1918, age 35.

Born North Shields, Northumberland, enlisted Newcastle-on-Tyne.

Son of Elizabeth Mackay, of 32, Bird St., North Shields, and the late Robert Mackay.

Commemorated at Crucifix Corner Cemetery, III. E. 4., Villers-Bretonneux, France.

NOTE: Regimental History & Soldiers Died in the Great War spell lastname MACKEY; CWGC web site show it as MACKAY.
