Corporal Oliver John ROGERS, L/7375, "A" Company, 1st Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders France, 22nd July 1916, age 31.
18th September 1885, born Greenwich, Kent, son of George and Sarah Ann Rogers, of Lewisham, London.
1st August 1910, Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, married Jessie Lowther.
Children - Doris Rogers, born 3rd January 1912, British Columbia; Oliver John Rogers, born 16th January 1915, Kamloops, British Columbia.
August, 1914, left Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, to enlist, leaving his family in Canada; 12th September 1914, Avonmouth, Bristol, Oliver John Rogers, age 28, Reservist, arrived from Quebec, Canada on Steamship Uranium.
Enlisted Maidstone, Kent.
1st March 1918, Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, Jessie Rogers married Edgar James Hayward.
Buried at Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, XIV. D. 28., Longueval, France.
Three of his brothers served in the same Regiment and two in others. Company Sergeant Major Frederick William Rogers, 1st Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment, Service No.61716.
