4th December 1914, enlisted; 7th December 1914, Woolwich, posted Depot, 17th Lancers of the Line, Service No.9122; 3rd June 1915, transferred to Royal West Kent Regiment, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd August 1915, Fort Darland, overstaying his 3 day pass from Tattoo until Tattoo 4th August 1915, deprived of 3 days pay, forfeits 2 days pay; 31st August 1915, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st September 1915, 5 Infantry Base Depot; 8th September 1915, joined Battalion, "A" Company, In the Field; 20th March 1916, 14 Field Ambulance, myalgia; 21st March 1916, 42 Casualty Clearing Station; 26th March 1916, rejoined Battalion; 29th June 1916, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 22nd July 1916, posted wounded & missing.
