illegitimate son of Ann Elizabeth LATTER (1871 census) - no father shown on birth certificate. Tom Cooker has provided me with the ancestors and descendants of
CUCKON/CUCKOW/ George married Jessie CUCKOW, daughter of William CUCKOW and Mary
STAMFORD, on 17 Nov 1885 in Frindsbury Middsx. Jessie was born on 24 Dec 1858 in
Boxley. She died on 08 Mar 1931 in Uckfield. They had the following children: 74 M i. Charles George LATTER was born in 1886 in Marden. He died on 28 May 1917 in Blackpool, from appendicitis whilst serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps. His mother Jessie was with him when he died. As Charles was a "T" Company member it is probable that he died whilst in training. The RAMC opened a training establishment at Blackpool early in 1917.He is buried in Blackpool Cemetery, Lancashire, Grave T.53.. His name appears on the Marden War Memorial.

discharged from the Army 22 February 1920. Prior to joining the Army he was a
gas fitter. Married 3 April 1920 Edith
May TAPP. Gas Fitter at time of marriage and lived at 5 Bayhall Road Tunbridge
Wells. At the time of his marriage his father (shown on marriage certificate as
George William) was deceased. Shown as a bachelor age 27, a gas fitter. His wife
lived at 34 Golding Street Tunbridge Wells a spinster aged 26. His only son
Charles William LATTER was born 25.4.1923 at Chatham. His wife died in 1931. His
son was looked after by his sister in law Caroline HUMPHREY who lived at 104
Henwood Green Road Pembury Tunbridge Wells. He joined the Tunbridge Wells
Borough Force (Police) on 30 July 1920. At the time he was described as a
widower ?? His personal details at the time of joining the Force were 6 feet
tall, chest 36, eyes blue, hair brown, religion Church of England. He was
tattooed on his right foreman with a flag and flowers. Stanley married Edith May TAPP, daughter of Alfred TAPP and
