Previously served 2nd Volunteer Battalion, 4th Royal Sussex Regiment.

Husband of Mary Thomas Davey, (nee Thomas), 54 Railway Approach, East Grinstead, Sussex.  Married 6th April 1901, Parish Church, Lingfield, Surrey.

Children - Kathleen Mary Davey, born 30th January 1905, 54 Railway Approach, East Grinstead, Sussex; Ernest William Davey, born 28th July 1909, 54 Railway Approach, East Grinstead, Sussex.

6th November 1915, enlisted; 10th November 1915, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th November 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 14th April 1916, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; posted Depot; 22nd July 1916, wounded; 27th April 1917, posted Eastern Command Depot, Shoreham.

16th October 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension, 27/6 a week for 4 weeks, then 13/9 a week, to be reviewed in 48 weeks. Disability, gun shot wound right shoulder, in at the back exit at the front.
