22nd August 1914, enlisted & posted 1/4th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 25th January 1917, embarked India; 8th February 1917, disembarked Suez; 7th September 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

26th August 1918, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension, 27/6 a week for 4 weeks, then 13/9 a week for 22 weeks, then 8/3 a week, to be reviewed in 26 weeks, conditional.
