Born Dunton Green, Kent, enlisted 14th October 1916, Maisdtone, Kent, age 18, height 5ft, weight 100lbs, resided 3 Shab Hall Cottages, Dunton Green, Sevenoaks, Kent. Formerly lime burner.

Son of William & Emily Shrubb, of 3 Shab Hall Cottages, Dunton Green, Sevenoaks, Kent.

Home, 14th October 1916 to 19th February 1917, Egyptian Expeditionary Force, 20th February 1917 to 3rd May 1917.

19th December 1916, When on Active Service, having a dirty rifle on parade, 3 days confined to Barracks; 30th December 1916, When on Active Service, having a rusty rifle & bayonet & dirty equipment on 8.00am parade, 7 days confined to Barracks; 19th April 1917, near Gaza, wounded;  25th April 1917, Alexandria Hospital, gun shot wound, skull compound fracture, dangerous.

Buried at Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery, D. 113., Egypt.
