Born Beckley, Rye, Sussex, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leadbeatter, of 28, Cinque Port Street, Rye, Sussex.
Enlisted Maidstone, Kent, 3rd Battalion, Special Reserve, Royal West Kent Regiment, Service No.8224, age 19 years & 4 months, height 5ft 4¾ inches, weight 111lbs, brown eyes, brown hair, scar base of right thumb. Formerly milkman. 17th January 1911 to 19th September 1911. Left to join Regular Army.
22nd October 1915, posted Asiatic Theatre of War.
Commemorated at Basra Memorial, Panel 29, Iraq. & on Rye War Memorial.
