Private Claud DAVIS, 6592,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

Born Ascot, Yorkshire, enlisted 21st May 1915, Bromley, Kent, age 30, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 153lbs, resided Pickhurst Mead, Hayes, Kent. Formerly gardener.

21st May 1915, enlisted; 27th May 1915, joined at Maidstone and posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 29th May 1915, posted 3rd Battalion; 23rd June 1915 to 10th July 1915, Drill Hall Hospital, Chatham, rheumatism.

13th July 1915, Fort Darland, Chatham, application for discharge of recruit - after one weeks training started rheumatism in right knee & ankle and was not able to do any marching. He has had rheumatism of the chronic type on and off for 4 years 7 had treatment for it, without any permanent benefit. Not fit to be a soldier. Not the result of military service. Discharge recommended by Medical Inspector of Recruits, Eastern Command.

31st August 1915, discharged  as "not likely to become an efficient soldier". Silver War Badge issued
