Private Edward HOWELL, 6249, (Labour Corps 397545), Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died, 24th January 1920, age 37.

Born Bexley Heath, Woolwich, Kent, son of Charles and Ellen Howell, of 1 Fetherstone Cott, Bexley Heath, Woolwich, Kent.

Formerly served in 3rd Battalion, No.3723, Royal West Kent Regiment, Reserve, 13th June 1901 to 6th August 1901.

Enlisted New Cross, Kent, age 19 years & 3 months, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 119lbs, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, pierced heart left forearm, like pierced heart I love A Rose, I love Maggie Ralph, right forearm, bracelet right wrist. Resided East Street Cottages, May Place Road, Bexley Heath, Kent. Formerly bricklayers labourer.

23rd November 1914, Registry Office, Chatham, married Eliza Ellen Lemon, 21 Betterton Street, Drury Lane, WC.

12th September 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued Discharged to 1 Featherstone Cottages, Graham Road, Bexley Heath, Kent.

Pension of 27/6 a week awarded from 13th September 1918, to be reviewed in 28 weeks.

Buried at  Bexley Heath Cemetery, 242, United Kingdom.
