29th January 1917, deemed to have enlisted; 29th February 1917, called up; 16th April 1917, posted Training Reserve Battalion 30, No.21950; 12th December 1917, transferred to 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th January 1918, posted BEF; 16th January 1918, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 20th September 1918, wounded; 26th April 1919, posted 4th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 25th July 1919, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 25th July 1919 to 1st September 1919, Queen Mary Military Hospital, Whalley, haematuria, admitted looking weak and pale, blood microscopically in urine; 1st September 1919, discharged to Transfer Centre, Ripon.
10th September 1919, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued
Disability haematuria (blood in urine), intermittent pains in back (kidneys), heart normal, less than 20%.
Pension from 11th September 1919, 8/6 a week for 26 weeks, expires 16th March 1920.
20th January 1920, Medical Board, Thorpe, Norwich, Norfolk, man appears nervous but otherwise healthy, no blood in urine and heart normal, disability less than 20%. Pension 5/6 a week for 52 weeks, expires 15th March 1921.
