Enlisted Tunbridge Wells, Kent, age 20, height 5ft 5 inches. Resided 2 Stephen Cottages, Stanley Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Formerly shop assistant.

27th July 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 31st July 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th November 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 15th April 1916, posted BEF & 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th May 1916, reverts to Private on joining Battalion.

Buried at  Ovillers Military Cemetery, XVI. G. 2., France.
