11th December 1915, enlisted; 12th December 1915, to Army Reserve; 19th June 1916, mobilized; 20th June 1916, posted 27th Battalion, (Reserve) Royal Fusiliers, Service No.3275; 1st September 1916, posted 103 Training Reserve Battalion; 3rd October 1916, posted BEF & transferred to Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th October 1916, embarked; 18th October 1916, joined 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 20th November 1916, wounded; 20th November 1916, 38 Field Ambulance, died of wounds.
A Sergeant wrote: "I found your husband, the little while he has been in my platoon, a through good soldier and one of the best; never a complaint or a word of dissatisfaction and it is a great loss to us all to have lost such a good soldier, and I feel it very much."
11th June 1917, pension of 13/9 per week awarded to widow.
Buried at Le Fermont Military Cemetery, II. D. 6., Riviere, Pas de Calais, France.
