Born Frampton, Dorset, son of John and Mary Ann Budden, of Frampton, Dorset.

24th September 1909, Dunning, Perthshire, married Lizzie Jack, spinster.

Enlisted Walton on the Hill, Surrey, age 35 years & 7 months, height 5ft 6 inches, weight 147lbs, teeth poor, flat feet. Resided Oaks Lodge, Walton on the Hill, Epsom, Surrey. Formerly head gardener.

Home 10th December 1915 to 6th October 1916; BEF 7th October 1916 to 11th April 1917.

10th December 1915, enlisted; 11th December 1915 to Army Reserve; 3rd June 1916, mobilized; 5th June 1916, posted 12th Queens Regiment, (G/13827, Royal West Surrey Regiment); 1st September 1916, transferred to 97th Training Reserve, Service No. 32362; 7th October 1916, posted BEF & transferred to Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th October 1916, joined 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th April 1917, 37 Field Ambulance /19 Casualty Clearing Station, wounded, gun shot wound left leg;

17th September 1917, Mrs Lizzie Budden living at Bishopthorpe Gardens, York / Dunning Perthshire.

18th November 1917, date to which separation allowance of 9/6 a week and allotment of pay of 3/6 a week will be paid to widow.

19th November 1917, pension of 13/9 a week awarded to widow.
