8th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th October 1914, absent from 12.00 midnight till Reveille 13th October 1914, admonished, forfeits 2 days pay; 15th October 1914, drunk & urinating in his tent at 10.30pm, forfeits 3 days pay; 17th October 1914, absent from Tattoo till 11.00am 19th October 1914, 7 days confined to Camp, forfeits 3 days pay; 31st October 1914, absent from Tattoo until 9.30pm 1st November 1914, 4 days confined to Camp, forfeits 2 days pay; 4th April 1915, overstaying his pass from 12.00 midnight until Reveille 6th April 1915, 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 2 days pay; 1st June 1915, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment;

1915 September, Woolwich Registration District, Harold Stannard married Nellie Ward, born 31st October 1895.

4th October 1915, posted BEF & 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th February 1916, 73 Field Ambulance, tonsillitis; 27th February 1916, 73 Field Ambulance, to Duty; 28th April 1916, awarded 28 days Field Punishment No.1.

16th April 1917 - Widow - Mrs Nellie Stannard, c/o Mrs Pallister, 13 Mallfield Road, Will Hall, Eltham.

30th April 1917, pension of 13/9 a week awarded to widow.

1917 December, Romford Registration District, Nellie Stannard, married William J Bliss.

6th April 1920, Statement of Relatives - Widow, Nellie Bliss, 15 Kingston Road, Ilford; Children, none; Father, Ernest Stannard, address unknown; Mother, Nellie Stannard, address unknown; Brothers - Bertie Stannard, age & address unknown; Ernest Stannard, age & address unknown; Cyril Stannard, age & address unknown; Sisters, none.

25th June 1921 - Note from Mrs Ward, 15 Kingston Road, Ilford - "Sir, In respect of  my daughter Mrs Bliss, I promised her I would receive the Medals for her until her return from India."

16th August 1921, letter from Mrs E Stannard, 55 Eglington Road, Plumstead, SE18 to Infantry Records - "I am writing on behalf of my son who was unfortunately killed in the War; he was at the time married , and his wife, has since married again, and she has brought me, the 1914-15 Star, and also told me there are other medals due to him, and if they sent them to her she would send them to me, but I have not had them. Will you kindly send me any more medals as anything that is due to my son to me here at the above address, as I shall be very glad to receive anything that he would have had, had he been spared; his wife after she got married again came and saw me, and has now gone abroad. Kindly give this matter your earliest attention and mush oblige."

19th August 1921, Infantry Records to Mrs E Stannard, 55 Eglington Road, Plumstead, SE18 - "With reference to your letter dated 16th August 1921. I am directed to inform you that the British War and Victory Medals awarded to your late son were forwarded to Mrs Bliss, c/o Mrs Ward, 15 Kingston Road, Ilford, on 18th July 1921 in accordance with instructions received."

Buried at Barlin Communal Cemetery Extension, I. E. 21., France.
