Private Herbert William CARTER, G/30210,  "D" Company, 7th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly 3042, Yeoman Cyclists), died of wounds, Flanders France, 14th April 1918, age 19.

19th November 1898, born Kensington, London, son of William & Elvina Carter, of 5, Warwick Terrace, Hadley, Barnet, Hertfordshire.

23rd May 1899, St Mark, Notting Hill, baptism of Herbert William Carter, son of William (Police Sergeant) & Elvina Carter, 116 Clarendon Road.


1911 Census - The Police Station, Potters Bar, Middlesex - William Carter, head, age 43, married, Senior Sergeant, Metropolitan Police, born Pucklechurch, Gloucestershire; Elvina Eliza Carter, wife, age 48, married 20 years, 2 children, both still alive, born St Leonard, London; Gladys Elvina Carter, daughter, age 18, single, born Streatham, Surrey; Herbert William Carter, son, age 12, born Notting Hill, London.


Enlisted Tonbridge, Kent.

Buried at Cologne Southern Cemetery, XIV. F. 18., Koln(Cologne), Nordrhein-Westfal, Germany.
