Private Joseph Arthur CHANNON, G/2268,  7th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds, Flanders France, 7th October 1915, age 23.

Born Bermondsey, SE, enlisted 2nd September 1914, Hythe, Kent, age 22, height 5ft 3 inches, weight 8st 8 ounces, resided Hythe, Kent. Formerly cellarman.

Served in Kent Cyclists Battalion.

Son of Edwin and Hannah Channon, of 14, West Parade, Hythe, Kent. One brother, three sisters.

Posted BEF France, 26th July 1915; wounded 7th October 1915 - bullet through head, collected by 55 Field Ambulance, dead.

Commemorated at  Dartmoor Cemetery, I. C. 16., Becordel-Becourt, Somme, France.  Also commemorated at St Leonard's School, Hythe, Kent.
