Previously served Rifle Brigade, 256 days, discharge by purchase.

Enlisted Bromley, Kent, age 26, height 5ft 4 inches, weight 129lbs, right forearm I LOVE RH, right forearm, dagger, 3 scars left cheek, several scars on neck, mole near side right thigh. Formerly labourer.

Home 18th September 1914 to 25th January 1915; BEF 26th January 1915 to 7th April 1915.

18th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 28th September 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th December 1914, Chatham, absent from Parade for draft when warned for active service, 7 days Field Punishment No.2.; 26th January 1915, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

25th June 1919, Statement of Relatives - Father, John Bailey, Perseverance House, High Road, Ilford; Brother, Arthur William Bailey, age 29, 5 Hattons Cottages, Beehive, Ilford.

Buried at Ramparts Cemetery, Lillegate, G4., Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
