Enlisted Southborough, Kent, age 18 years, 6 months, height 5ft 6 inches. Resided 17 London Road, Southborough, Kent. Formerly labourer (greengrocer crossed out). Employer J C Jarrett, Tunbridge Wells.

Home 21st February 1912 to 6th August 1913.

21st February 1912, enlisted & posted as Sapper, Kent Fortress Royal Engineers, Service No.738 (740); 3rd August 1912 to 10th August 1912, Shorncliffe, Annual Training.


Enlisted Tunbridge Wells, Kent, age 18 years & 8 months, height 5ft 7½ inches, weight 109lbs, grey eyes, brown hair, birthmark outer side right hip, mole below right armpit, mole back left ankle, scar above right eyelid. Formerly shop porter.

Home 7th March 1913 to 8th June 1913.

7th March 1913, enlisted & posted 3rd Battalion, (Special Reserve), Royal West Kent Regiment. Service No.8710, still serving Kent Fortress Royal Engineers.


Enlisted  Maidstone, Kent, age 18, weight 5ft 7 inches, weight 114lbs. Formerly shop porter.

Home, 9th June 1913 to 13th August 1914; BEF, 14th August 1914 (30th August 1914, from Medal Card) to 12th October 1914.

Buried at Philosophe British Cemetery, IV. P. 6., Mazingarbe, Pas de Calais, France.
