Private John TULLY, L/10392,  3rd Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of tuberculosis at Fort Pitt Military Hospital, Chatham, Kent, 17th January 1917, age 19.

8th March 1897, born Five Oak Green, Tonbridge, Kent, son of John and Ada Annie Tully, of Fowl Hall, Paddock Wood, Kent.

Enlisted  Maidstone, Kent, age 18, height 5ft 1 inch, weight 94lbs. Formerly farm labourer.

10th July 1915, enlisted; 19th August 1915, Chatham, when on active service not complying with an order, not having his hair cut when ordered to do so, having a rusty bayonet on parade at 6.15am, 3 days confined to Barracks; 18th January 1916, Fort Darland, absent from Parade at 8.30am until 1pm, 7 days confined to Barracks; 27th January 1916, Fort Darland, absent from Guard Mounting Parade, 7 days confined to Barracks; 28th January 1916, Fort Darland, absent from Guard Mounting Parade, 14 days confined to Barracks; 30th January 1916, Fort Darland, absent from Guard mounting parade at 8.30am, awarded 14 days Field Punishment no.2. by Commanding Officer for absence; 28th February 1916, Fort Darland, absent from fatigue at 2.00pm, 10 days confined to Barracks; 7th March 1916, Fort Darland, absent from Defaulters Parade, 7 days Field Punishment No.2.; 29th March 1916, Fort Darland, whilst on active service, absent from Parade at 9.00am till 4.30pm, 7 days confined to Barracks; 13th April 1916, not having his hair cut on 13th, absent from 6.45am Parade on 15th, 21 days Field Punishment No.2.; 7th May 1916, Fort Darland, late parading for Guard Mounting, 7 days confined to Barracks; 22nd May 1916 to 10th August 1916, Fort Pitt Military Hospital, Chatham, Kent, admitted general tuberculosis, very fragile and weak. No definite chest signs on admission except a few scattered moles. Has well marked  ******  ******  with ****** and cured. Given  *****  **** made from ***** without benefit ****** weight  and *****   *****. Has a ***** infection of urine; 10th August 1916 to 14th October 1916, Westcliff on Sea Hospital, Pyrexia; 14th October 1916 to 17th January 1917, Fort Pitt Military Hospital, Chatham, Kent, slowly went downhill and died.
