Private Owen Dick  BARRAT(T), 4574, 4th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died, 26th July 1917, age 35.

8th December 1881, Born Stoke Prior, Worcestershire, son of John William and Ann Maria Barratt, of 230, Mount Pleasant, Redditch, Worcestershire.

Enlisted, Redditch, Worcestershire, age 34, height 5ft 4¼ inches.  Resided 105 Evesham Road, Headless Cross, nr Redditch, Worcestershire. Formerly press worker.

Home 8th December 1915 to 31st July 1916.

8th December 1915, enlisted, Somerset Light Infantry, 23788; 9th December 1915 to Army Reserve; 24th February 1916, mobilized; 27th March 1916, attached 13th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment; 3rd May 1916, transferred to 3/4th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th July 1916 to 14th August 1916, 2nd Eastern General Hospital, Brighton, Sussex; 31st July 1916, discharged medically unfit, pulmonary tuberculosis, origin uncertain but prior to enlistment. 100% disablement.

Rejected for pension granted a gratuity of £52. No evidence of a Silver War Badge being issued.

Buried at  Redditch (Plymouth Road)  Cemetery, CX. 6., United Kingdom.
