 Bristol, Called up For Service,  age 32 years & 9 months, height 5ft 5½ inches, weight 112lbs. Resided 23 Daisy Road, Eastville, Easton, Bristol . On enlistment he stated he suffered from a suicidal attitude. Declared fit for Field Service at Home. Formerly steward.

Home 17th April 1916 to 2nd January 1917; BEF 3rd January 1917 to 21st November 1917; Home 22nd November 1917 to 22nd June 1918.

17th April 1916, Called up For Service; 18th April 1916, posted 3rd/4th Royal West Kent Regiment, Service No.4305; 14th November 1916, posted Reserve Battalion; 3rd January 1917, posted BEF & 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd November 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd November 1917 to 3rd January 1918, Penrith Auxiliary Hospital  with gun shot wound to the chest, severe; 4th January 1918, to Whitchuch for further treatment; 8th June 1918, sent home from Hospital, awaiting discharge.

22nd June 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued. Age 34.

In addition to the Silver War badge, he was entitled to the British War and Victory Medals.


    

                     


Pension 27/6 a week for 4 weeks from 23rd June 1918, then 16/6 to be reviewed in 22 weeks.

1939 Register - Mangotsfield, Gloucestershire - Oliver George Starr, born 26th July 1883, married, incapacitated; Florence Starr, born 1st September 1888, married, Secretary Timber Merchants.

28th April 1950, Probate - Oliver George Starr, of Church Lane, Old Sodbury, Gloucestershire died 18th November 1949. Probate Bristol 28th April to Florence Starr, widow. Effects £1874 14s 2d.
