July 1884, born Lakenheath, Brandon, Suffolk, son of William & Susan Dicks.


1911 Census - Woodcocks Corner, Shipbourne, Tonbridge, Kent - William Dicks, head, age 54, married, stockman on farm, born Heacham, Norfolk; Susan Dicks, wife, age 54, married 30 years, 5 children, 2 still alive, born Lakenheath, Suffolk; John Henry Dicks, son, age 30, single, farm labourer, born Lakenheath, Suffolk; Plough Right Roper Dicks, son, age 26, single, farm labourer, born Lakenheath, Suffolk.


Enlisted Tonbridge, Kent.  Resided  Woodcocks Corner, Shipbourne, Tonbridge, Kent.

26th July 1915, posted BEF.

Buried at Bernafay Wood British Cemetery, N.75., Montauban, Somme, France.
