Enlisted New Cross, Kent, age 18 years & 7 months, height 5ft 6⅝ inches, weight 123lbs, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, dot left forearm, scar back of left hand, has lost several teeth. Formerly gardener.

Home 24th November 1908 to 4th November 1911; India, 5th November 1911 to 31st January 1915; 1st February 1915 Indian Expeditionary Force "D" to 19th August 1915.

24th November 1908, enlisted; 2nd December 1908, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 29th May 1909, Dover, overstaying his permanent pass from 12.00 midnight until Reveille 1st June 1909, when at field training, 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 3 days pay; 5th November 1911, posted India, 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th May 1912 to 31st May 1912, diarrhoea; 17th August 1912, Peshawar, leaving a rusty rifle when admitted to hospital, 5 days confined to Barracks; 18th June 1913 to 23rd June 1913, malaria; 27th August 1913 Cherat, absent from ration Parade at 6.30am, 3 days confined to Barracks; 12th December 1913, Cherat, In arrest awaiting Trial, tried and convicted, receiving knowing them to be stolen goods, the property of a comrade, sentence 56 days detention; 31st January 1914, Detention Barracks, Dagshai, not complying with an order, forfeit one days remittance; 7th February 1914, from Detention; 8th February 1914, to Duty, unexpired portion of sentence , 8 days, remitted; 12th September 1914 to 21st September 1914, boils; 23rd October 1914 to 28th October 1914, Multan, malaria; 6th February 1915, posted Asiatic Theatre of War;1st April 1915, not complying with an order, not getting his hair cut when ordered to do so, 7 days confined to Barracks.

18th July 1915 to 23rd July 1915, Busra Hospital, effects of heat.

Buried  at Basra War Cemetery, V. D. 19., Iraq.
