Enlisted Chatham, Kent, age 20 years & 3 months, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 124lbs.  Resided 36 High Street, Strood, Kent. Formerly blacksmith striker.

25th October 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 31st October 1915, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 1st November 1915 to 25th November 1915, Military Wards, Shoreham, hydrocele, operation, fluid withdrawn; 30th December 1915, posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 15th September 1916, posted missing.

12th August 1919, Statement of Relatives - Mother, Mary Ann Duffield, 36 High Street, Strood; Brother - Edgar Duffield, age 20, in France; Sisters - Alice Duffield, age 30, 10 Leghorn Road, Harlesden?; ?? 14th May 1917, date when Separation Allowance of 4/1? a week and Allotment of Pay of 3/6 a week will cease.

Buried at Bulls Road Cemetery, II. F. 16., Flers, Somme, France.
