Son of William George and Mary Catherine Green, of 2 Noble Street, London EC. On enlistment father address given as Greenwich Infirmary, Vanburgh Hill, Greenwich, Kent.

Enlisted Lewisham, SE, age 27 years & 103 days, height 5ft 6½ inches, weight 140lbs. Resided 10, Holbeach Road, Catford, SE. Formerly barman.

9th November 1915, enlisted & posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd May 1916, Southampton, embarked; 3rd May 1916, posted BEF; 3rd May 1916, Havre, disembarked; 17th August 1916, In the Field, whilst on active service drinking in an estaminet during prohibited hours, 3 days confined to Barracks; 5th October 1916, wounded; 17th October 1916, 4th General Hospital, Daniers? Camiers, gun shot wound, right thigh.

25th August 1919, Statement of Relatives - Father, deceased; Mother, Mary C Green, 10, Holbeach Road, Catford; Brother - E E Green, age 23, killed in action; Sisters - Edith Davies, age 42, 103 Perry Rise, Catford; F Hanscombe?, age 40, 129, Drakebell? Buried at  Etaples Military Cemetery, VIII. C. 1A, France.
