Born Newbridge, Kildare, Ireland, son of William Robert & Ellen Mary Tice, of 31, Effra Road, Brixton, London / 5 Ceres Road, Plumstead, SE18.
Previously served in 3rd Battalion, (Special Reserve), Royal West Kent Regiment.
Enlisted 20th June 1901, Woolwich, Kent, age 20, height 5ft 2½ inches, weight 115lbs, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, scar left thigh. Formerly labourer in Royal Arsenal.

20th June 1901, enlisted & posted Depot., Royal West Kent Regiment; 23rd June 1901, joined Regiment at Maidstone; 26th June 1901, Maidstone, injury to hand, believed to be from a fight with Pte Hibertson; 28th February 1902, posted Malta & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th November 1902, posted Ceylon, 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th May 1904, 3rd Class Certificate of Education; 13th July 1904, appointed Lance Corporal; 5th November 1904, posted China; 13th February 1905, reverted to Private at own request; 29th November 1906, posted Singapore; 6th October 1907, Singapore, drunk returning to Barracks about 8.50pm, wilfully damaging the door of the Guards Detention Room, breaking out of the Guard Detention Room and remaining absent until arrested in Barracks by Corporal King at 5.45am, 10 days confined to Barracks; 5th May 1908, 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, appointed Pioneer; 11th November 1908, reverts to Private; 15th December 1908, Home & posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th March 1909, Dover, disorderly conduct in town, interfering with the duties of the Military Police about 10.50pm, 10 days confined to Barracks; 19th June 1909, transferred to Army Reserve Section "B", to 68 Anglesea Road, Plumstead.
3rd July 1909, Woolwich, married #Lillian Ruth Kitchingham, spinster, 21 Mount Pleasant, Woolwich, SE.
Children - Daphne Dorris Tice, born 8th April 1910, Plumstead; Joyce Catherine Tice, born 21st May 1914.
20th June 1913, re-engaged for 4 years; 5th August 1914, mobilized; 6th August 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th September 1914, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th October 1914, killed in action, "buried immediately East of road junction 200x West of the B in LESBRULOT which is immediately South of NEUVE CHAPELLE."
