Serjeant Albert Edgar WARD, G/1290, 6th  Battalion  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,  killed in action, Flanders France, 3rd July 1916.

Born Tottenham, Middlesex, son of Leonard Edgar Ward

Husband of Edith Maria/e Ward, c/o Miss Pullam, 70 Ingate Road, Beccles, Suffolk / 9 Station Road, Beccles, Suffolk.

Enlisted Bromley, Kent, age 30 years & 8 months, height 5ft 8 inches, weight 146lbs.  Resided Beccles, Suffolk. Formerly outfitter.

4th September 1914, enlisted; 6th September 1914, Maidstone, joined Regiment; 6th September 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 30th October 1914, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st September 1914, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 15th January 1915, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 1st June 1915, posted BEF; 6th August 1915, appointed Acting Corporal; 9th October 1915, appointed Acting Sergeant; 6th December 1915, promoted Sergeant.

19th January 1917, pension of 11/- a week awarded to widow.

Buried at  Blighty Valley Cemetery, V. H. 15., Authuile Wood, Somme, France. Commemorated on Bromley War Memorial.
