29th November 1915, enlisted; 11th March 1916, appointed Lance Corporal; 23rd March 1916, embarked; 23rd June 1916, wounded severe, gun shot wound to right shoulder; 26th June 1916, to Hospital Ship "St Denis" ex 14 General Hospital, Wimereux; 26th June 1916, to 25th July 1916, VAD Yacht Club Hospital, shell wound, right shoulder, shrapnel removed under general anaesthetic; 12th September 1916, promoted Sergeant; 13th September 1916, embarked; 29th September 1916, joined Battalion; 7th October 1916, posted missing.
24th June 1917, date which Separation Allowance of 14/- a week & allotment of pay 6d a week ceases.
25th June 1917, awarded pension of 21/3 a week for widow, (now Bailey) and one child.
Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, Somme, France.
NOTE: Regimental History spells name BENDALL.
