AWARDS: DSO London Gazette 23rd May 1919. AWARDED THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE ORDER. (MESOPOTAMIA) For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Sharqat on 28th October, 1918. During an attack he encountered an enemy strong point. He collected some twelve men, and by skilful manoeuvring and dashing leadership rushed the position, capturing over 100 prisoners and six machine guns. He showed fine courage and leadership, and his splendid action greatly assisted in the success of the advance. OTHER AWARDS: OBE
