Corporal G HARRIS, G/4041, 1st Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

AWARDS: DCM

London Gazette 5th December 1918.

His Majesty The KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to the undermentioned Warrant Officers, Non-commissioned Officers, and Men, for gallantry and distinguished service in the Field:—

Corporal G HARRIS, G/4041, 1st Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment. ((E) Strood)

For conspicuous gallantry during an attack. When an enemy machine-gun post was enfilading the battalion he led his section to a flank, and under cover of fire from his Lewis gun section, rushed, at the head of the remainder of his men, and took the machine gun, killing1 the team. He showed fine courage and leadership.
