This web site shows the results of our research of the LATTER, ROTHWELL, BASSETT & STANDEN families. These will be updated as the research progresses. The information on the PERRIN family who married into the LATTER family has been provided by Bayne Macdougall.
I have only shown on the listings where the name of the pub is used. Some addresses are shown at times with individuals as beer sellers or retailers. Those have not been listed. There are slight variations over the years such as Inn, Tavern or even Hotel, but the name is generically the same and they are at the same address. After 1957 the names of landlords were not shown in the directories.
These are from our personal collection. They all predate 1920.
You can view the complete directory, over 5,400 entries, in Adobe Acrobat, pdf format (468 KB), or in sections in normal format.

These transcripts are from the 2% sample of the British 1851 census, transcribed by a team under Professor Michael Anderson at Edinburgh. Anderson's team transcribed every 50th census book in England, Wales and Scotland so parishes that were split between census books are not fully covered. The 2% Census survey is considered to be only a "guide" to tracing your ancestors, it is advised that at all times consult with the original census files where possible. 8871 individual entries.
