Silver War Badge (SWB) sometimes erroneously called the Silver Wound Badge, was authorised in September 1916 and takes the form of a circular badge with the legend "For King and Empire + Services Rendered surrounding the George V cypher. The badge was awarded to all of those military personnel who were discharged as a result of sickness or wounds contracted or received during the war, either at home or overseas. Units / Commanding Officers - Appendix V -The section gives details of the units of the Queens Own together with their Commanding Officers - August 4th 1914 to November 11th 1918. This includes the disposition of each Battalion.

Photograph album of Private Henry KNIGHT, Service No. 1437, who served in "A" Company of the 1/5th Royal West Kent Regiment in India during the Great War. Some of the photographs have been removed and put back in the wrong place and one of Private Henry KNIGHT is missing.
