Great War dead buried in Ramsgate Original Register published in 1931 and subsequent changes have been incorporated when it was reprinted in 1992. Ramsgate & St Lawrence Cemetery - The cemetery is on the North side of the town and contains 103 War Graves, including those of six unidentified ratings of the Royal Navy and one Norwegian Merchant Seaman. The War Plot, with 45 graves, contains a War Cross and close to it are the graves of 13 men of H.M.T.B. "4". The Cemetery comprises the former Ramsgate Cemetery opened in 1871 and St Lawrence, opened in 1898, which transferred in 1935 from the Burial Boards of Ramsgate and St Lawrence to the Corporation. Ramsgate was the base of armed drifters; it held a Canadian Special Hospital; and it was bombed in March 1916.
