14th September 1914, mobilized at Northampton & re-enlisted & posted Northamptonshire Regiment, 11050; 16th September 1914, posted Colour Sergeant, 7th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment; 17th September 1914, promoted Acting Company Sergeant Major; 10th April 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment; 20th November 1915, attached Suffolk Regiment, 12th Battalion, Company Sergeant Majorf; 19th August 1916, transferred to Home Station Garrison Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.
24th May 1917, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued.
Pension 8/3 a week to be reviewed in 26 weeks, in addition to previous service with Northamptonshire Regiment, 1934, 23d a day for life.
Disability, age & debility.
29th June 1921, widows pension of 33/4 a week Now living at 47 Blackburn Street, Blackburn, Lancashire.
