Corporal Bernard Charles PINKNEY, 3668, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

Born Orpington, Kent, enlisted 7th September 1914, Harringay, age 23, height 5ft 6 7/8, weight 122½lbs, resided 30 Beaconsfield Road, New Southgate / 3 Station Road, Worthing. Formerly woodworker.

Son of Edith Alice Pinkney, 23 Redvers Road, Noel Park, Wood Green N.

Home, 7th September 1914 to 29th August 1915; BEF,. 30th August 1915 to 20th  March 1916; Home, 21st March 1916 to 30th May 1916.

7th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th September 1914, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th February 1915, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 29th August 1915, promoted Corporal; 18th March 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

30th May 1916, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 7/- a week for 6 months, conditional.
