3rd November 1915, enlisted & posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th November 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 3rd May 1916, posted BEF, embarked Southampton; 4th May 1916, disembarked Havres; 15th July 1916, transferred to England, ex 35 General Hospital; 15th July 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 8th September 1916, posted Eastern Command Depot, Shoreham by Sea, Sussex; 9th October 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.
30th April 1917, Medical Board, Maidstone - 13th June 1916, La Basse, while collecting salvage in a billet a shell burst and blew the house up with the Lance Corporal in it, rendering him unconscious. After 3 weeks treatment in the trenches was found to have a dislocated right shoulder. Was taken to the hospital at Boulogne, where the dislocation was ???? under an anaesthetic. In spite of treatment by massage & electricity he has not gained ??? of his shoulder. Permanently unfit.
21st May 1917, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.
Deceased.
