30th July 1911 to 6th August 1911, Crowborough, Sussex, Annual Training; 1912, Worthing, Sussex, Annual Training; 29th October 1914, posted 2/5th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd April 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal.
1st November 1915, Tonbridge, Kent, Medical Board, age 25, height 6ft, weight 185 lbs, pack horse driver, varicose veins of left leg, extensive, recommended unfit for Service at home or abroad.
13th November 1915, appointed paid Lance Corporal.
10th March 1916, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued.
