23rd August 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 28th August 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th April 1916, forfeits 6 days pay, awarded 14 days Field Punishment No2 by Commanding Officer for absence; 8th June 1916, forfeits 6 days pay, awarded 14 days Field Punishment No2 by Commanding Officer for absence; 6th July 1916, forfeits 12 days pay, awarded 21 days Field Punishment No2 by Commanding Officer for absence; 17th July 1916, posted BEF; Infantry Base Depot, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment;  10th November 1916, returned from BEF marked Permanent Base  and was handed over to 1st Home Station Garrison Battalion, "The Buffs" for purpose of being sent to his Depot; 11th November 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th November 1916, Dover Military Hospital; 1st March 1917, Eastern Command Depot, Shoreham by Sea; 21st March 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 14th May 1917, forfeits 16 days pay.

21st August 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued.
