7th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment;
21st March 1918, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.
Pension, 27/6 a week for 52 weeks, to be reviewed, conditional.
15th October 1926, letter from Ministry of Pension to The Officer in charge of Records, Royal West Kent Regiment - With reference to War Office letterNo.27/ A.S.C./ 2848 (Mob5) dated 29th July 1920, I am directed by the Minister of Pensions to inform you that the man described above has recently taken steps to change his name, and that his true name Herbert Arthur Palmer, as evidenced by the legal document produced by him, which has been found to be in order, has now been added to the Pensions documents affected.
