20th April 1903, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 8th August 1903, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th August 1904, awarded swimming certificate; 23rd May 1905, permitted to extend his service to complete 8 years with the Colours; 13th November 1905, posted 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th August 1907, forfeits one Good Conduct Badge; 25th March 1911, to Army Reserve with his consent; 2nd September 1914, mobilized & posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th October 1914, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th March 1915, wounded, gun shot wound, right shoulder; 3rd September 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th September 1915 to 12th October 1915, awaiting Trial; 13th October 1915, Tried by DCM, when on active service leaving his guard without orders from his superior officer, when a soldier acting as a sentinel on active service being drunk on his post, sentenced to 56 days detention; 18th October 1915, to detention; 29th November 1915, to Duty, 9 days remitted for good conduct; 29th December 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 20th April 1916, agrees to continue in service for the duration of the War; 3rd May 1916, posted BEF; 30th September 1916, Missing, Prisoner of War; 5th December 1918, repatriated at Dover; 5th December 1918, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.
