17th October 1916, enlisted; 29th October 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st November 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th December 1916 to 1st January 1917, Fort Pitt Hospital, Chatham, Kent, accident not in performance of his duty, trivial scalp wounds & concussion, fell from the top of a skidding motor bus, picked up unconscious by Police, quite sober; 17th October 1917, posted BEF; 21st October 1917, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th October 1917, wounded, gun shot wound right arm; 10th November 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th November 1917 to 26th January 1918, 1st Southern General Hospital, Kings Heath, Birmingham, gun shot wound, bullet, right arm with fracture of humereus, penetrating wound through upper third of arm, bone fragments removed; 26th January 1918 to 4th February 1918, 1st Southern General  Hospital, Kings Heath, Birmingham, furlough; 13th February 1918, Eastern Command Depot, Shoreham by Sea, Sussex, shrapnel wound, right shoulder; 28th May 1918, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th June 1918, posted Infantry Base Depot, Etaples; 16th June 1918, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd July 1918, wounded, gun shot wound left foot; 5th July 1918, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

20th November 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 16/6 a week to be reviewed in 26 weeks.

NOTE : Brother Antonio Papa served with 6th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment, 33247. Deserted 27th November 1916.
