31st December 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th January 1915, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 28th June 1916, wounded, slight; 13th August 1916, wounded; 28th September 1916. wounded, gun shot wound, left arm fractured; 13th October 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 28th February 1917, 4th Northern General Hospital, Lincoln; 7th March 1917, Hagle Place, VAD Hospital, Maidstone, Kent; 22nd June 1917, War Hospital, Croydon.

13th July 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 13/9 a week to be reviewed in 26 weeks. Disability, gun shot wound, left arm.
