Born 11th July 1895, Oswaldtwisle, Lancashire, enlisted Accrington, Lancashire, 30th June 1915, age 19, height 5ft 4½ inches, weight 107lbs, resided 40 Catlow Hall Street, Oswaldtwisle, Lancashire / 15 Chaple Street, Oswaldtwisle, Lancashire.  Formerly tinners labourer.

Son of Arthur Peach, 40 Catlow Hall Street, Oswaldtwisle, Lancashire.

Home, 30th June 1915 to 13th December 1915; BEF, 14th December 1915 to 6th July 1916; Home, 7th July 1916 to 2nd October 1916.

30th June 1915, enlisted; 1st July 1915, posted Maidstone, Kent, Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd July 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 14th December 1915, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 4th May 1916, wounded, slight, accident; 3rd July 1916, wounded, gun shot wound, left ankle; 7th July 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

18th September 1916, Medical Board, disability, deafness - On 13th June 1916 at Albert in France was exposed to shell fire and became suddenly deaf after a shell burst 4 yards from him.  Blood exuding from both ears three hours after. Also wounded in the left leg by a bullet on 16th June 1916. Right drum is perforated and there is a discharge from this ear. The left drum is sacculated in parts and ballooned outwards. Very deaf in both ears. Permanent, prevents ½ for 6 months.

2nd October 1916, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 12/6 a week for 6 months conditional. Expires 2nd April 1917.

14th February 1917, Medical Board, deafness, prevents ½, bullet wound left leg, prevents ¼, Pension, 24/- a week for 26 weeks.

29th August 1917, Medical Board, deafness, prevents 30%, bullet wound left leg, prevents 20%. Increase award from 4th April 1917 to 22/- a week, then 13/9 a week, for 65 weeks conditional, expires 31st DEcember 1918.

29th October 1918, Medical Board, deafness, prevents 30% for 6 months, bullet wound left leg, prevents less 20%, 6 months.

9th November 1918, Opinion of Senior Medical Officer, (1) prevents 5%, (2) no disability. £41.5.
