Son of Mathew & Mary Ann Proctor, 20 Bedford Street, Burnley, Lancashire.

Home, 2nd September 1914 to 2nd May 1916; BEF, 3rd May 1916 to 6th July 1916; Home, 7th July 1916 to 26th January 1917.

1st September 1914, enlisted & posted 6th Battalion, East Lancs Regiment, 12635; 11st January 1915, transferred to Army Cyclists Corps, 4222, 13th Divisional Cyclists; 14th May 1915, forfeits 7 days pay, awarded 14 days, Field Punishment No.2.; 28th May 1915, returns to Duty; 1st June 1915, awarded 10 days Field Punishment No.2. for insolence; 11th June 1915, returns to duty; 15th July 1915, posted TC; 13th November 1915, posted, 41st Division, Army Cyclists Corps; 20th May 1916, transferred to 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th December 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

26th January 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 12/6 a week for 4 months, conditional.
