Born Old Brompton, Chatham, Kent, enlisted 1st December 1915, Chatham, Kent, age 21, height 5ft 4 inches, resided 45 St Mary's Road, Gillingham, Kent / 35 Ainslie Street, Grimsby. Formerly labourer.

1st December 1915, enlisted; 2nd December 1915, to Army Reserve; 26th January 1916, mobilized from Army Reserve; 27th January 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th March 1916, forfeits 6 days pay for absence.
16th June 1916, Medical Report - medically unfit VDH. Originated when a child at Chatham. States he has never been strong and has suffered with his heart all of his life. Not caused or aggravated by Military Service. Permanent. No incapacity.
6th July 1916, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued.
13th July 1916, rejected for a pension.
Pension, 8/3 a week for 13 weeks Final from 25th December 1918. Disability VDH.
