Home, 20th April 1914 to 2nd May 1916; BEF, 3rd May 1916 to 8th August 1917; Home, 9th August 1917 to 28th March 1918.
20th April 1914, enlisted & posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th August 1914, mobilized; 16th September 1914, forfeits 9 days pay for absence; 25th November 1915, awarded 7 days Field Punishment No.2., by Commanding Officer for making an improper reply to NCO; 29th December 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th August 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th November 1917, posted 3rd Battalion.
28th March 1918, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.
Pension, 27/6 a week for 9 weeks, then 19/3 a week to be reviewed in 17 weeks.
26th August 1937, living at 84 Devonshire Road, Forest Hill, SE23.
