Private William Charles POULSON, 20012, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

Born Corsham, Wiltshire, enlisted 20th January 1916, Chippenham, Wiltshire, age 18, height 5ft 10¼ inches, weight 151lbs, resided Ridge Farm, Corsham, Wiltshire. Formerly farmer.

20th January 1916, enlisted & served with  Army Service Corps, RX/4/ 234084; 12th Reserve Cavalry Regiment, 32919; 5th Garrison Regiment, 59166; 1st Royal West Kent Regiment, 20012.

30th April 1918, wounded, gun shot wound left forearm.

26th August 1918, Medical Board - wounded at lower end of left forearm, divided extensor tendon of index, left forearm, flexion at wrist limited, extension complete thumb & index finger little flexor movement, especially index. Xray shows general decalsific of wrist bones. Prevents 60%.

16th September 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

28th March 1919, Trowbridge, Wilshire, extension of wrist nearly normal, flexion limited, flexion of thumb & index causing some dragging on back of hand. Prevents 20%.

29th April 1920, Trowbridge, Wilshire, Special Orthopaedic Board, loss of sensation on dorsum of hand (?glove anaesthesia), all movements normal, all muscles functioning, slight adhesions from scars, prevents less than 20%.
